I traded this Lovely condition Hoover Turbo Power on a New dyson today.

Apart from a torn hose it is in great looking condition. Very noisy and lacking power so it will need a tear down and new motor an brush bearings before it goes on the wall.

The hose is easily fixed as the machine end just threads on. All you need to do is cut out the defective section and reconnect. I am intrigued by the circle on the handle though. I am sure the UK version of this cleaner in this colour did not have the circle. I have an idea that production of this model for the UK ended around 1991 as the cleaner was replaced with a blue model with boost setting. I may be wrong. I will go and see some of those excellent booklets which have been scanned onto here.

Love turbopowers! I have a turbopower boost u2718 and it is a wonderful vacuum. I'm sure you'll love it!

This is what I was looking for in the link. Doesn't say what year, but I think it is 1991. Strangely, the lilac colour standard none-autoflex model stayed in production until 1995 but is not mentioned in this booklet. The white model shown here did technically replace it, but for some reason Hoover never stopped making the lilac version.

These were manufactured in a Town called East London in South Africa so I am sure there are some differences, Some models ha a red gel like hoover badge there.

I have repaired many of these hoses before but this is the firs oneof these I have gotten in where the back base is not shattered.

If its noisy and lacking power then is the fan broken?

on the white with blue hood Hoover do? To me it's a Convertible to you a Senior i believe. It's about 4 or 5 inches from the Hoover emblem on the base of the machine.

Is the On/Off switch, all our "Senior" cleaners has the switch on the body (in earlier models its ran along the outside of the bumper) since the 612, launched in 1949. The cable also ran on the outside of the handle, rather like the Junior models.

congratulations on a good find

you have done well i love the hoover turbo range, i think they are peob one of the best machines hoover ever produced,
i think my favorites must be the turbo range,my gone but not forgotten maytag windtunnel and my junior
there were a few of the turbopower 1 range that had the gel hoover decal on the handle but it was more recognised on the turbo 2

A twin of mine! Good save, I hope you get it fixed. Will have a look at mine and check if it has the roundel, and its year.
