Hello fellow vacuum collectors!

A long, long time ago,i went and got a Hoover Convertible form the flea marke.now, this was no ordinary convertible,This was my very FIRST Hoover convertible!I got it home,And fired it up and loved it!Burn then,What's this?A burning smell i smell?Well i guess is should open it up!Bad idea,Thought i broke it.So i put it in the attic or something. Then,A fellow vacuum collector is selling old vacuum parts? And he's selling a motor? For the Hoover convertible?40$ later i get a package with 2 bottom plates (1 for a Hoover concept,One for the convertible as i lost the old one)And a motor!
I install the motor,fire it up,And oh no!The convertible went boom! :(
So then i put it in the Attic again (Actually,The A/C house for that matter).
Then,The other night,i decide i want to fix it for a project (Which you will see soon enough :D).
I bring the cleaner in,Spin the motor shaft with my hand,And guess what pops out?A broken bit of fan!How could i be so stupid! The fan busted,And that is all that happened!A new fan later,And the cleaner runs!

But,That's not the end...There's a reason why i call her, "Parts-Vertible".
The 2nd most important part of the vacuum,"The metal rod thingy that holds the handle and hight selector to the base of the machine" was missing. So guess what i replaced it with?
A ball-point pen,What else? :D
So with some re-assembling later,The cleaner is ready to groom the carpets once more!I just need to get it a Bulb & a brush-roll :D

(Forgot to mention earlier,The motor i pulled out the convertible was more than likely fine,As i didn't know at the time:
1:The burning smell was not fried motor,But just dust (Happened to me again with a Singer Golden-powermaster,I ended up breaking the carbon brush).
2:I was spinning the motor backwards,That's why it made a odd sound!
In the end,The original motor is toast,As i really screwed up the armature trying to take te fan off :D)

-Alex.

Forgot to mention,Since the switch was also broken,I ran the cord trough the old switch hole and put a toggle switch in the old cord hole :D
