I have searched and searched and just can’t find a brushroll for my Hoover 450. Sadly it didn’t come with one when I bought it.

Does anyone have one, know where to find one, know what models might be interchangeable or how to Frankenstein one or have pictures of one? I have a mint brushroll for a 700 that fits and spins freely without the rug plate but is too big with the plate in place.

If anyone has a spare compatible brushroll would they be willing to trade for my 700 brushroll?

Any help is greatly appreciated. I’ve been dreaming of having a Hoover coffee can style machine for 20 years and this is the final piece to finish my restoration IMG_9257.jpeg

That's a beautiful 450 you have there! I have one too, all original except the bag, but I must say that yours looks better than mine. Here's a pic.

Hi:
Any chance this Hoover agitator/brushroll would fit? It measures 11 3/8 inches in overall length. Jusy a little under 11 1/2 inches. I was not able to get a clear photo against the ruler, but the actual length is 11 3/8 inches.

I used a caliper to measure the end cap diameter. it measures 2 .092 inches which is a little shy of 2 1/8 inches.

I also measured the cylinder diameter that hold the two brush strips with my calipers. It is 1.9 inches or just about 1/8 shy of 2 inches.

Man I wish. I have that exact brushroll but its diameter is just a bit too wide to fit. It slots in and rolls fine but the belt slot is a bit too far to the left and the rug plate won’t close with it. IMG_9737.jpegIMG_9738.jpeg
I appreciate the help though.

Oh, Phooey. I was hoping it would fit. It seems an eBay "junker" is your best possibility. How about Craig's List and Facbook Marketplace? Does anyone know if models other than your 450 might use the same or compatible agitator/brushroll?

And antique malls and resale stores are another possobility, but that route takes some time to visit the many shops.

Good Luck,
