Have any of you had to adjust the beater bar or the MicroMatic on any of your Kirbys? Mine wasn't picking of cat hair very well, even with a new bag, so I adjusted the beater, and the MicroMatic, and now it picks of the cat every time, and the carpets look better after being vacuumed too.

I won't swear to this, but I think the Micromatic adjustment is only there to create a small variance on the very last notch so the nozzle won't create such a tight suction to glue down carpet. So I don't know if it makes a whole lot of difference on the other levels. But again, I'm not real sure about that. I've fiddle with it too, and I can't see that it does anything.

Actually it is simple to use in that you take the nozzle down by several notches until you hear the motor's sound change which indicates the nozzle is at the correct height for cleaning.

But Kirby suggests another tip: if the suction is broken with normal movement of your machine, then bring down the nozzle one more notch after initial adjustment.
