Hey everyone. The replacement clutch for my Dyson DC14 finally came. Some of you may remember I complained of the clutch clicking every now and then when I used the machine and that the brushroll was starting to slow and stall over thicker rugs and on the back stroke. So, I used the special tools that came with the clutch and the tutorial video on Youtube to fix the Dyson. It went very well! I did have one mishap... I stripped the deep torx screw that holds the clutch cover on, but it's held on by two other screws and I haven't noticed a problem from doing it. The machine doesn't click anymore and the brushroll spins the way it should. The most expensive (40 dollars) belt I've ever purchased though!
In comparing the new clutch with the old, it's no wonder the machine was misbehaving. Look now much the belt on the right side had stretched. The clutch on the left is the new one, the clutch on the right is the old.
I'd encourage anyone having trouble do dive right in and do this repair... very simple and worth it!
