Here's how it looks inside. I didn't clean it up! This is literally how it came home! It's hands-down the cleanest vacuum I have EVER found or brought home! |

Nice Eureka Roto-Matic! It will be very easy to find all the matching turquoise tools. That's also not an original hose - I bet the original is a nice turquoise woven hose with one white stripe. As for year.....hmmm. I think the key lies in the cursive writing of the name "Eureka". I don't think that cursive writing came onto the market until the Mobile-Aire with Vibra-Beat Nozzle. The general window is definitely 1955-1965. I might narrow it more to 1960-1965 since that was Eureka's time period for mostly turquoise machines. Also - 7 amps sounds like a lot for a Roto-Matic of the 1950's. What's the model number on the name-plate? If I could see a close-up of the nameplate, I'd be able to give you all a better idea. I'll see if I can find an ad for this model and get back to you. |

Our friend Doug out on the Canadian Prairies is a great resource as usual. His website is showing a similar Super Roto-Matic Model 910 from 1956, but he also shows the Eureka Vibra Beat Model 1010 with cursive "Eureka" logo. His time period for that one is 1959-1962, which is probably when your turquoise SRM is from as well. If you look at the set of tools for the 1010, I would bet that your blue Super Roto-Matic came with an identical tool kit. See link below. Hope this helps! Doesn't life suck sometimes? Here's a picture of the nameplate. I'm assuming this is a Canadian machine? |

Our Eureka plant was called Onward Manufacturing and it was located in Kitchener, Ontario - about halfway between Toronto and Detroit, and a day's drive for shipping trucks from Eureka Williams headquarters in Bloomington, Illinois. As I've said before, all of North America's Eureka floor brushes with attached elbow necks made in the 1980's say "Made in Canada" inside! So they come from Kitchener. The model number I see is 980C which really makes me think it is one of the last Super Roto-Matics (the early one on Doug's site is 910 from 1956). I'd therefore say it is from 1962 or 1963. |
