Anyone have any info about Sanyo Dirthunter bagless machines? I ran across one in a thrift shop the other day and it looked like an interesting machine.

Not sure of the model number, but I think it might have been a B1230. Red and white, with a black hose and tools. The color's what attracted me to it, since it looked a little like an old Advance commercial machine.

It had a variable speed control, and the dustbin had a little crank on the top for some reason. Seemed to work OK, quiet and fairly decent build quality.

While I'm not a bagless fan, am I missing anything here? Is it worth going back and spending $20 for?

I have a DirtHunter bagless canister-the crank on the top of the dust cup is to spin the inner filter to sling off the dust trapped in it.You use the crank while emptying the dust cup.

I sold a ton of those vacuums back about five years ago before Dysons were here. The one you are refering to must be the red and white model (which was the top of the line) because it had the speed control. The problem was the filter in the middle of the bucket. IF you'll buy a new filter (both the one in the bucket AND the hepa exhaust filter) the machine is actually a GOOD sweeper. For $20 you can't go wrong. If you need any help with it, or need to buy the filters at wholesale, contact me. I'll help almost anyone in the club with anything they need. Just ask.
