After years of hoping for a bargain, the local shop owner dazzled me again with a free project 😆

A week ish ago, I had the misfortune of purchasing a Rainbow E2 Gold that was beyond saving. The hoses were filthy, the power head needed disassembled and washed out, and the water basin was full of, well, I don't even want to imagine. It looked as though the previous owner had unclogged a drain or something and just left it there to rot. I spent half an hour just trying to get the underside of this abused machine somewhat clean, and to my dismay, the shaft was so corroded that the separator was fused to it. Even a hammer couldn't break up this unfortunate union. So I messaged the seller, and he was kind enough to refund me back the $15. I tossed the motor unit, and held onto all of the accessories. I took the box of goodies into the shop to see if there was any trade in value, and he lugged out a Silver edition in need of some love.
After replacing the cord (which was ridiculously easy, why didn't I know the late models were all snap fit?) and a good cleaning, she runs like new! I had this model years ago and regretted immensely selling it to the pawn shop. Now that snother is home, this machine will be a permanent fixture in the collection.
I enjoyed the Hyla EST I had for awhile, but I will forever be partial to Rainbows.

Picture is attached, since I only received the motor unit, the hose, power head, and base are from the Gold I tossed. The power head runs smooth and quiet after some oil and a newer brush roll was installed. Now comes the fun part of tracking down all of the extra equipment that Rainbow offers for these to make them an all-around cleaning master!

Please ignore the typos, my keyboard isn't playing nice today 😂

Snother was meant to be 'another' and that's the only one I can see at the moment, but forgive me lol

Black is the best e series. It's hose is both wet and dry.
The silver is awesome too. You have to have a2 spotted rainbow in any collection.
Congrats on yours.
