This is my complete domestic Rexair model B. Made May 21, 1949 (all Rexair motors have their date of manufacture stamped into it). This came from a facebook marketplace ad. 3 1/2 hours drive each way. I have great friends. They surprised me with this lovely ensemble for Easter.

The hose is still new. Completely sealed and not faded at all. I think the only attachment they used was the upholstery nozzle.

The motor was spotless. I greased the lower bearing, but did nothing else to it, as it wasn't needed. This motor (made by Black and Decker for Rexair) runs very quiet and powerful.

The original box for the motor unit. Note it was NOT called a vacuum cleaner (even though it is). It's a Conditioner and Humidifier.

"King of the Air" is represented by a flying lion, truly a King of the Air.

The "renovating utensils" (attachments) cost an additional $25. But, if you buy the machine tonight, we'll throw in the utensils at no extra cost.

All Rexair serial numbers are consecutive. They only made one model at a time. My model B was one of the very last before the big change to the Model C in 1950. They started building model C in September of 1949 for launch in '50.

This Rexair is one of the jewels of my Rexair collection. Just wait for the Estate sale - too bad I won't be there to see the hair pulling, teeth gnashing, and infighting over these old sweepers. Ha Ha.

Your estate sale

Make sure to it set up with a velvet rope, security guard and a blacklist with the names of forbidden people at the entrance. None of your machines should get into the hands of anyone from your past who has ever crossed you.

Stunning! Congrats!

Thanks for the background, too.

Well that

Was disgusting, John 🤣
Why the heck does it matter who gets what once it's all said and done?

It absolutely matters.

It’s a question of making sure one’s wishes for their machines are fulfilled. The topic is quite real and it’s been discussed here in the past. It’s also the reason why some people are fortunate enough to have these machines that they can share with the world.

So sorry that you found my attempt at humor to be “disgusting”, but the comment was meant for someone else.

Point made

But still unnecessary nonetheless. That kind of drama is honestly gross and we all know when someone is making a jab at particular members of the community.
Clearly you had something not so pleasant to say previously, hence the dirty delete.

Personally I could give less than a damn what happens to that collection when it's over, God knows no one will ever see anything from it unless they're "chosen". For Christ's sake they're *just* vacuums 😂

Oh my goodness it was an inside joke!

You’re hardly an arbiter of what’s to be decided as “unnecessary” and you’re being quite judgmental about me. It wasn’t a jab at anyone, but you couldn’t possibly know that because it wasn’t for your entertainment purposes. Someone else (whom I consider a friend) opened up with a remark about his estate sale and I just followed along and my comment was meant for that person. It’s called “cross-talk” and its happens quite frequently.

We’ve had such a long run of live and let live positivity in the forums that it’s practically a new record (with a few isolated incidents). Please don’t start any problems now. I enjoy this peaceable kingdom, why can’t you?

Yeah this peaceful kingdom huh. You mean nobody posts here anymore
Tom's going to curse his vacuums if the wrong person gets them.

I’m backing out of this one.

Peace out!

I have often wondered what will become of my collection. To that end, I have tried to get all the optional tools, owner's manuals, and brochures together with the machines. It will make it far easier on everyone, and whomever gets a particular machine from my estate will get everything that goes with it. In the past, there have been on-line auctions of collections, but they seem disjointed, as some people got hoses and tools that didn't go with anything they bought from the auction.

There are also many, many photographs of what should be with a particular machine. Like the Rexair model B above.

I didn't spend all this time collecting vacuums for them to just be spread to the winds.

That's a yes on haunting the machines.

Oh Les:
I'm definitely haunting ALL the machines. Ha Ha Ha.

The only thing I hope is that they all end up with people who admire and respect them like I do.

BTW, my impending doom isn't likely any time soon, but tomorrow isn't guaranteed for anyone.
