If you've been watching vacuum related videos on Youtube for the past 10 years or so, then chances are you may have come across this video by the official Oreck Commercial YouTube channel, which shows off A Best Western branded Oreck vacuum. The vacuum was supposedly made just for Best Western Hotels to be used by housekeeping staff, and is seemingly just an XL2100RHS with a custom-lettered outer bag. I remember seeing this promotional video when I was younger, and being infatuated with it. The idea that Hotel Chains and other businesses could have their own exclusive vacuums really captivated me. Naturally, I wished to add one to my collection, but to my disappointment, I could not find one anywhere online. Heck, I haven't been able to find so much as a photo of one besides that previously mentioned promotional video. I'm sure by now most Best Westerns have probably gotten rid of them in favor of other machines, but the fact that not even a simple photo of one even exists is quite perplexing. So, to the members on here, does anyone have anymore info on the Best Western Oreck?

Eh, I haven't been that steadfast on getting one lately. I just saw the video pop up in my recommendations again, and thought "hey, maybe I should tell Vacuumland about it". Also, I live nowhere near Louisiana, and even if I did, don't you think it'd be kind of weird to call them and ask "hey, do you still have this specific model of vacuum cleaner? And if you're no longer using it, can I have it?" Maybe one will pop up for sale someday, idk.

I believe this was one of Oreck's attempts to catch up with the sales as they were already struggling during the time when that video was made. And of course Oreck eventually filed for bankruptcy. Because of that, I don't think very many were sold to Best Western. Even I don't ever recall seeing one at a Best Western hotel before. It'd be cool if I ever seen one in person and I wouldn't mind adding one to the collection if the condition satisfies me. I also wouldn't mind finding a green Merry Maids version, I have yet to see one in person either. In fact just right when I pulled this picture up to show, I didn't know they had a Hoover Elite that's also made for Merry Maids. Learn something new everyday.

That Merry Maids Hoover Elite looks quite nice. Thanks for the photo PanVac! As for that thing being a prop, that doesn't really make sense. I know it's a common practice for retail stores to have "display only" vacs that are basically just the NPCUs of the vacuum industry, but I can't see why Oreck would do it in this case. My theory is that some BWs did buy them, but they got trashed over the years from use. I don't have anything to back this up, so it's just a theory (insert MatPat reference here). Finally, this machine isn't as coveted for me as something like a 2009 DD Breeze with a red handle, due to how rare these things must be. There's just machines that I don't put much thought into getting because my chances are so low. That's not to say if one were for sale and was in good enough shape that I would not try to get it (that's how I got my Hoover Dual V), it's just that those things are exceedingly rare, so it's pretty fruitless to get excited at the prospect of obtaining one.
