You know the compact is basically made the same as the patriot. The patriot has a 3 inch long tube where the hose attaches to the suction port. If you get a 3 inch tube and put it in the compact you can use these same hepa bags on the compact. There's no loss of air and there easier and cheaper to find than hepa triatar bags.

For the plastic bodied & metal bodied canisters that have a motor exhaust after filter, like the 2100, AP Series & the 80 series canisters, I would just use the 4 ply bags. The material used to make the exhaust motor after filters is the same material used to make HEPA Cloth bags. Plus, when you consider that the 4 ply bags leak hardly any dust & filter so well, there's no need to use a HEPA Cloth bag when the vacuum also has the exhaust motor after filter.

Now, for the American metal bodied canisters, like the Model G, Model L, 1205, Golden Jubilee, Super J, Olympia, Silverado, Diamond Jubilee, Marquise, Grand Marquise & the Ultralux canisters, I would use the HEPA Cloth bags in them if you can afford & prefer to use them. Bear in mind, in this instance, if you have allergies, the bag is the ONLY FILTER in the vacuum holding in the dust from escaping back into the air. It would also be difficult to jury rig a motor exhaust after filter on the vacuum's exhaust that would be sealed & allow all the dirty air to pass through on these models, due to how the top hood & exhaust port is designed.

If you use the 4 ply bags, I would suggest buying bags that have the end folded & glued over, like most conventional paper bags are made. The 4 ply bags that are identical to the original Electrolux bags & have a blue sealing strip holding the top & bottom of the bag material in the back have a flaw - In some cases, the blue sealing strip may have a small section in the corner and right at the edges where there is small holes where dirt and dust can leak through. For this reason, when Aerus was still making paper Style C bags, they made a 2nd revision of the Home Solutions paper bag which eliminated the blue sealing strip in favour of the bag material being folded over & glued. If you do use bags with the blue sealing strip, I would suggest using a felt-type Miele Pre Motor Filter cut to fit & put at the bottom of the bag compartment. You get 3 large sheets of material, & very inexpensive at only $8.00 CDN dollars. Just use the cardboard bag top to trace a outline to cut the filter to fit.

Below are some links to the paper & HEPA Cloth bags I was able to find online, & note that Aerus is now selling ONLY HEPA Cloth Style C bags - the paper Home Solutions bags are discontinued. A pack of 12 is $45 CDN dollars from my local Aerus dealer in London.

They will keep your motors cleaner

I am a big fan of this and other brands of type C HEPA bags. They will keep out of your vacs' motors dust that even genuine 4-ply paper bags won't. A vac shop operator told me in the late 1960s that Electrolux has the dirtiest motors in the industry. Decades later I reasoned that it was because they used a relatively small bag, so it had to be more porous in order to have adequate airflow. The HEPA bags allow that airflow while capturing way more dust than the cloth or paper bags of the day.

Fast forward, I've read on this forum from an esteemed member that the V3 motors in the later models are very sensitive to dust buildup, but that will never be a problem if I use HEPA bags.

Long and short of it, I highly recommend HEPA bags for all Electrolux models if your budget will allow.

After trying the first generation of

The pretty blue eVacuumstore HEPA C bags in one of my old Luxes I don't have anymore, I won't ever go back to paper bags. I don't care what y'all say about the 4-ply, unless it's a Lindhaus bag, they won't ever ever perform the same as synthetic.
It's a worthwhile investment to convert everything to HEPA bags that the option is available for, especially if you've taken the time to service the motor in your beloved Model E. Paper will just make it dirty all over again.
Hell, I even made custom bags for my Eureka Excalibur 😂 not tearing that motor apart again

Just my take...

I have no doubt the HEPA bags are good, but I've had zero problems with generic four-ply bags. And they're so dirt cheap when bought in bulk, that it's difficult for me to justify shelling out for something more expensive, when these do the job.
