I had a Generation 3 make a break for it yesterday.

I backed the car out of the garage to run some errands and forgot to close the door. The Kirby obviously sensed an opportunity (helped by a sloping garage floor) and rolled toward freedom.

I came home to find it on its side in the driveway, cord splayed out behind it, and missing its plug.

As it fled, the garage door must have done its five-minute timed auto close. Apparently, the door dropped in time to catch the plug, which probably jerked the Kirby to a halt hard enough to throw it on its side before it could roll all the way into the street. I found the plug just inside the door.

So today the G3 will get a new cord -- and a leash.

How about it? Anyone else have a vac that wanted to be free?
