2 weeks ago I found this metal Royal at a thrift store. It’s my first Royal. I went back today in hopes of finding the belt lifter and maybe attachments if it had them originally. Lo and behold I found a bag with the belt lifter and attachments. I inquired about the hose and wands but they weren’t to be found. Along with the attachments came this soft rubber spout looking piece. I don’t think it goes with the machine, but wanted to see if anyone else knows for sure?

I think you'll enjoy it. Is it an 886? Looks like it. You'll find the model and serial numbers on a label on the back side of the nozzle. And you're right about the black piece that looks like a spout. Don't know just what it is, but it definitely does not go with the Royal.

I can't say to what brand, but I've seen rubber funnel plugs like those on carpet shampooer tanks.

Model 994

Thanks Jeff! So far I really like it. It’s a model 994. Made in November 1991. I didn’t think the spout went with it, but before I tossed it I wanted to find out for sure. This past Monday I found a newer 10.5 amp Burgundy model with the screw height adjustment and brush roll indicator. It’s almost too powerful. The blue 994 at 7 amps is just right.

Brian,

I worked hard to get all the attachments for my 1985 model 880. Not many Royals had color-matching tools.

Not many people even have a hose for their royal upright.

Les,

I understand completely. When I first got my Royal 880 in 2012 as that year's Christmas gift, it only had the two extension wands included.
