I have quite an affinity for the Electrolux brand as well; however, I don't have anything in my collection as old as yours. For canisters, I have a pair of 1205's, a Super J, Silverado, Diamond J, and a Diplomat LX. Uprights include a Discovery II, Epic 3500SR, and Genesis LXe. Even though I also have a bunch of Kirbys and a few Eureka/Sanitaire machines, Electrolux is almost always my go-to. The Kirbys are great for brute power, and they're fun to work on and polish up, but the Electroluxes offer a refinement and ease of use that's hard to beat. They're just a pleasure to use.
I had a young lady who came and cleaned my kitchen and bathrooms every couple of weeks, and she absolutely fell in love with the Electrolux uprights. She was completely amazed when I told her the Discovery II was more than 30 years old. She thought it looked too modern to be that old, and was one of the best vacuums she'd ever used. |
