Dear fellow collectors,
I was lucky enough to find and buy an antique Hoover Model 543 (the model 700s not-so-fancy sister) from the late 1920s in a not to distant town from my home.
Living in Germany, pre-war Hoovers are few and far between here, so I consider myself blessed! It even has its signature plate written in german.
I will gladly post photos, if somebody is interested.

To complete my Hoover I also bought what I thought was a matching Dusting Tools Kit from the UK, only to find out that the hose connecting attachment didn´t fit my 543.
What I didn´t know then was that there are several different versions of the tools.
Browsing the internet, I now believe that I am looking for the adapter also fitting model 700. I´ll attach some depictions below.

Now...

... is there someone amongst you in possession of such a connector and willing to sell and ship it to me? I´d be so happy!

Thanks for reading through my ramblings and please excuse my english since it is not my native language.

Sebastian from Cologne, Germany

Welcome!

A German 543... wow
543s are quite rare anyway, given that the beater bar often proved to overload the motor.

I would love to see pictures!

I do not have a hose connector like that but if no one else replies, I might be able to source one. I do not mind shipping overseas.

Thank you!

Thank you Hoover300 for the welcome and your nice offer!

I plan to upload a couple of photos of my Hoover today.
It is still in its dirty as-found condition and even has original dust in the bag from who knows when ;)... and it looks like a family of mice have taste tested the cord (luckily a modern replacement anyway).
I will start to take it apart and restore it over the coming week(s).

@ Hoover300

Hi!

Since noone else has replied so far,
I´d like to ask if you could try to find
the mentioned hose connector for me?
I´d be very grateful!

Cheers, Sebastian

P.S. The part number seems to be 3782, according to the model 543 manual scan I found online...

Wow!! I have never, EVER seen a Hoover with info printed in another language! You have something very special!!

I will see what I can do for a hose coupler. Might take a bit but I will ask around in the Facebook groups, someone should have one to sell me.

@ Dysonman1

Hi there and thanks for your reply!

Yes, that seems to be exactly the part I am looking for!
Is it yours and would you be willing to sell it to me (please know that I live in Germany and would have to ask you to ship it here)?

Thanks a lot,

Sebastian

Great!

Can you please send me an email

Wow!
Gut aufbewahren!!!
Schöne Grüße aus Hamburg

Thanks

..for your interest, Gottahaveahoove!

@heinzelmann

@heinzelmann-hh

Hallo!

@Heinzelmann

Dann kannst du ja jetzt mit dem neuen/alten Hoover jeden Winkel deiner Wohnung reinigen. :-)

Torsten
