Hi
I found this fantom online said to be in New shape with all new filters etc. It has a short in the cord I'm told.
I'm not too interested in fantom myself but for resale value.
If I got this at $20 changed the cord fixing the short is there money to be made or nit?
Thanks in advance.

That is a late model

Made by Sanyo! From what I've heard if you treat them nice and maintain them they actually do pretty well. Not the same quality as the original Iona Fantoms, as these rolled out after the Euro Pro acquisition, but that one looks like it's in good shape. I'd snag it just for the collection 😀

There's a handful of collectors out there who would be more than happy to give it a home. Could always post it on the Fantom group on Facebook...

I'm not even into making money as long as a vacuum someone really wants gets a hold of it that would be great. It sounds and looks almost brand new. He has the manual filters etc. Ill probably pick it up and find a home to a fantom fan after I try it out and see if I like it.

There you go!

I have a couple of friends who'd pay well for it, but I appreciate your mentality. Some of the Fantom fans will trip over one another and clutch their pearls over some of the machines 😂

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder with a lot of stuff anymore it seems

These are rare. They were made after the company was re-bought and someone rebooted the name. I am not sure when they actually came out - there's little to no information on them. I know it was in the mid-millenium. 2006? 2005? There's old posts on the site when they were new if you go digging, members here were impressed by it. I like the giant chrome strip, it looks really cool in the sunlight. That mauve color isn't the best to show it off, but you know.

The vacuum looks like it was a store display, I don't think it was ever used. Because there's no way to get new parts for these - too obscure. Not sure what they mean by a short in the cord, probably just a damaged sheathing.
