I have the same hose as shown in the picture below and am looking for a button sheet if possible. All the buttons work and nothing cuts out when the handle is swiveled.

I tried calling my Aerus dealer and they said no parts are available for it whatsoever. I'm curious if they ever made the plastic button sheet as its own part.

Any help/info is appreciated.

I don’t think so but

You may wish to contact Bryan Satterwhite at RVA vacuums in Richmond, VA. He is an Aerus dealer and restores old Electrolux machines. If anyone would know it would be him. He may have a workaround option for you as well.

Epic 8000 parts

Mike, if the Renaissance hose parts truly are NLA, you should be able to convert a Renny into a Epic 8000. I would bet the circuit board the Epic 8000 uses should fit into the same place on the Renny....the body is identical except for color and very minor changes. And you should be able to re-use your hose handle and put the handle board and toggle switches in there so you have a cosmetically correct Renny hose.

However, I would call the dealer's bluff, call Aerus corporate to confirm, and if he is indeed lying about the Renny hose parts, report him! An Aerus dealer in Brampton, Ontario, Richard Chadwick, was able to get Renny hose parts as of last year, so I think your dealer is trying to spin you a tall tale to try and get you to buy a new vacuum.

Update:

I talked to Bill and he sent out a used top cover from a junk hose and a dusting brush that I also needed for a great price.

They were great to deal with. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

Good deal! I was going to suggest finding a plastics company (Chinese sellers on AliExpress can do custom prints) or a hobbyist that knows how, to remake a new button sheet. I need one done for my Oreck Radiovac.

I am not sure if possibly this could even be done at home with a Cricut printer and some plastic sheeting.

Aerus has discontinued a lot of part for older machine as of 2021. I was told this by not just a decent dealer who was all for fixing something I needed. He even was very nice and gave me a workaround that resulted in no sale for him on more than one occasion. I appreciated his help and with that I believe everything he said is true about discontinued parts. The Renaissance is quite old at this point. Parts for machines dating back 40 years or more are no longer being made for certain. Only old stock some dealers may still have lying around is what might be available. My dealer unfortunately moved locations in recent years and on the move he threw away a lot of parts for older machines that were “slow movers” to eliminate how much had to be moved from one location to another…even though it was generally just across the street. He also explained with rent by the square foot…it gets expensive to have the space to keep a lot of older machines that come in on trade for “used parts” that technically Aerus doesn’t want him selling and will not offer a warranty. If he wants to help someone with a used part…that is at his discretion and many dealers will do this for long time customers and that is nice. But the reality is with Aerus having made so many models after the 80’s and in more recent years stocking parts or used parts for in a branch location would require a LOT more space than it used to.
