Hi David,

On the left is the model C (later production, circa 1937, due to the headlight), and on the right is the Heritage II Legend (1987-89, just a warmed-over Heritage II with some new features) with the shake-out bag and the 13" nozzle.

These two are roughly 50 years apart (1937 and 1987)!

~Ben

Is the Kirby on the left a model 1R (circa 1935)? The handle appears to be all metal rather than the wood and metal section handle on a 1C.

Good catch ! Yes it’s a Model(1)R or as some people like to call it a late R with headlight . Was produced around 1936 and was sold in department stores . It’s a very rare belt cover. It was only used for a short period before switching over to the more familiar design that carried through early 505s
