I've observed newspaper ads giving the following sizes - typically after the 1970s:

Eureka - 550 cu. in. (8 qts.) or 650 cu. in. (9 qts.) "King Size"

Hoover - (standard) 9 quarts & (D80) 15 quarts (866.25 cu. in.)

Does anyone know if each company's bag jacket (outer bag) sizes for their post-WWII classic uprights were the same as the above prior to the 1980s?

I do know that the Eureka 1401 had a slimmer bag jacket that was likely used for the models 258 & 238 but have yet to find the size (possibly 450 cu. in.).

I suspect that the older Convertibles and their predecessors would have used 8-qt. bag jackets to stay competitive.
