Found something on eBay I've never seen before. Does anyone have any history on this? The fact that it's made in Canada and has this brush roll makes me think it's an old VacUFlo/HP Products equipment

That's the old General Electric designed powerhead, which originated back in the late 60's on the General Electric & Premier canisters. When Filter Queen bought the rights to the design, GE still used it in Canada for years with this newer style hood. The design has also been used by other canister & central vac brands over the years - Black & Decker used it in Canada in the 80's, & Watermatic/Filter Magic also used it guessing up to the early 2000's? Samsung also copied it & made a clone of this powerhead for the Quiet Jet canisters back in the 90's.
The key to it's origins is bottom plate, the height adjuster knob & height adjustment wheels - virtually idential in design to the GE powerhead. Important to note, some versions like this one had 1 set of beater bars & brushes on the brushroll, while others like the Watermatic/Filter Magic version had 2 sets of brushes on the brushroll. And the brushes on the all brush version are actually a little longer & stiffer than the all brush brushroll on the Filter Queen version. |
