I have an Electrolux Model AF that had been in great shape. I'd had the motor rebuilt at the local Electrolux store about 25 years ago with the last parts they had in stock. Since then accidents have happened and the body is pretty beat up, including the wheels breaking. Having a Y chromosome, I have not actually used the vacuum that much and the motor runs like new. Rather than repair this body I am keeping my eyes open for another vacuum with a good body but dying motor that I could transplant the rebuilt motor into. Will the AF motor fit into a Model G or 1205 ? I know that their motors are more powerful, but that's not an issue with me. I have a Model G that I'm taking good care of but the motor seems strong.

It should!

As far as I know, the motors from the LX onto the G and even an early 1205 are cross compatible. Just make sure that the mounting ring that screws onto the bag chamber matches up. I'm not 100 percent confident in this as I haven't had a motor out of an old Lux in years. Last I knew the 535 watt motor didn't change a whole lot. Good luck 🍀
