Hello. I'm wondering what motors were used in the Electrolux Epic 6500 SRs. Were they Electrolux motors, or outsourced? I'm interested in a 6500 from 1997-1999, C102G, that I saw on ebay. I've read that Electrolux stopped making and using their own motors at some point, but don't know when that was.

Thanks.

Michael T.

MIchael, Electrolux used their own motors right up till the end. It was in 2002, when Electrolux officially changed their name to Aerus, that they stopped using their own motors and sold the Electro Motor division in Piney Flats, Tennessee.

Kirbylux77: Thank you for the information. I bought the Epic and received it today. I noted how quiet it is and thought it was an Electrolux motor (Aerus motors are noisy), but wasn't sure.
