I was on the Belgian Hoover Website when I found these floor polishers that look like the vacuums from Hoover's early days.

Yes…the concept of a floor polisher-vacuum has been around in Europe, Australia, South Africa and Latin America for many decades. It may have originated in Italy, where stone and tile flooring are quite common. It probably spread to all the warm countries of the Mediterranean where stone, marble and tile flooring are common inside homes and extending out onto patios and courtyards and decks. The brushes of the polisher clean off any dirt and dried mud clinging to the tiles and the vacuum sucks up the removed dirt. It’s a very smart concept, especially if you don’t want to bother with wet washing the floors.
