Hi. I have a question for you Electrolux experts out there. Did Electrolux start using a different motor for their Ambassador III machines? I have several plastic Electroluxes and they all sound the same, but the 2 Ambassador III machines I've had had a different sound to them. I hear a tone that is annoying that the other Electroluxes don't have. Not like the Aerus machines, this is a deeper tone. I got rid of a III because of it, and just got another one thinking is was an issue with the previous vacuum and wouldn't be repeated, but it is. I am thinking the IIIs use a different motor. In any case I'll avoid them in the future. Thanks.

Some of the older eluxs classic ambassador style machines had a little different motor plus some had an air shroud that was attached to them. That maybe the difference you are hearing.

Electrolux Ambassador III Motor

Hi Gabowenjr. Thank you for your reply. The shroud may be the reason for the resonance/deep hum I'm hearing when using the III. It is really annoying to me and I may have to move the machine along to someone who doesn't mind the sound.

Thanks for the information. I will avoid IIIs from now on.
