bench vacuum I think you guys are correct.....a bench vacuum. It does have good suction. Maybe I'll mount it on my workbench and use it. Thanks Hoover 300 for the tips on getting the fan off...you were exactly right. | ||

 Yes, It is likely a factory made vacuum tool for vacuum repair shops. Like that Hoover bag cleaner thing. It looks like it's all there and original, so it wasn't used daily or it would be in a lot worse shape. You'd put it on a workbench and use it to clean out vacuum bags. Some oldtimer with his own shop likely had it since it was new. | ||

Maybe an eraser vacuum that was modified into a shop vac with a hose? I've seen a few variants of such a thing(like below)

It appears Churchill was a hardware store at first but branched out into chemicals later on
