I have a Shark Apex DuoClean vacuum, about 3 years old. The motor is still strong, but the motorized floor nozzle part is worn out. What I mean by that is that the detent that holds the vacuum upright is worn down (it's friction, not a foot lever) so the bottom just "flops" down anytime you pick the vacuum up off the floor. Furthermore, the brush roll is pretty worn down and doesn't dig into pile carpet like it used to.

I liked this vac when I first bought it because they are highly modular, so piece parts can be swapped out very easily. Problem is that their website lists this replacement piece as "out of stock" for well over a year. I see them on Amazon, but the prices are stupid high, and I am not sure I trust those to not be counterfeit.

I've called their support, but you may as well talk to a wall. They keep trying to tell me they don't support "damage" and don't grasp that it's not damaged, it's worn down.

Anyway, checking to see if anyone else has managed to find any kind of support or parts supply for these vacs.

I just saw quite a few nozzles on eBay

I'm sure that they're all used to some degree and some of them are probably incorrectly listed as Apex Duo clean. I even noticed a listing for a "floor nozzle joint" and that's the only reason why I posted here. Is the lock mechanism for the nozzle located in the neck joint or on the nozzle?
