I was looking for information on my JCPenney upright that I received two weeks ago. I noticed that item (5) the economy vac (I have this one as well) has more CFMs than the most expensive vac in the group. The Concept one was only rated at 41 CFM. My guess is that the type C bag setup had more airflow due to its direct path than the type A. At least on an empty bag.

I looked at this again looks like the sealed suction 0.22 is higher on the Concept than the others. Which probably means more tool suction. I'm interested in how the Concept can have way less airflow than the other vacs listed and more suction.

It's possible to optimize a motor for sealed suction over airflow and vice versa - compare one of those new LG stick vacs with almost 100" of sealed suction but weak airflow, or something like one of these direct-air uprights with high airflow but very low sealed suction.

Indeed, if your vacuum uses a fixed amount of power, outside of efficiency gains, you have to trade off one for the other. Being able to use more power in total plus physically larger fans is how central vacs manage to excel at both.

All that said, I'd take those CFM figures, especially for the Concept One, with a grain of salt.

Good observation, Kenny; I look forward to learning from the discussion it generates!
