I found a Hoover Model 65 Golden at a thrift store last month. Wanted to know if someone could tell me more about it. What bag would have originally came with it. As well as is it worth anything?

That is the 'other' 65...Hoover's 50 th anniversary model.  The 'pink' one was the first Convertible.

They were given as prizes for sales.  There's more to the story.

Very cool find!

LOL. John, I initially thought you were calling the OP "Wild bag".
I was like; that's a strange thing to call someone.
Then, my second brain cell kicked in. Maybe I need more coffee.

Anyone find it odd the rarest vacuums end up being found by people that know nothing about vacuums rather than collectors? It always baffles me to this day how that happens.

As John said there's more to the story of this vacuum, hopefully someone will help in telling it. :)

Well, the model 65 is the 1st Convertible

It is pink. These gold ones were sales prizes. They were also a promo... .trying to get one to purchase another. They are a must have if you collect Hoover. Yes, most bags didn't survive, and many hoods warped due to heat

Thanks for the info

Thanks for the info. My son has been collecting vacuums for years, but mainly Electrolux and Dyson. He just in last year has gotten into the Hoovers.
Has anyone restored their old ones? Repainted the handle etc? It cleaned up pretty good, just has some worn off paint on the handle.
