I was wondering what size screws to use for a Heritage bottom bag adapter? I'm using this on my Tradition so I can use HEPA bags.

Hello Gabriel,

If I understand you correctly, you're fitting an Emptor Adapter to your Kirby Tradition to connect a regular-size Fill Tube & 'F'-type Bag Holder?

I've done this conversion on my Classic III, Tradition, and Heritage/Legend.

Take your adapter along to your hardware store and look for course-threaded screws capable of self-tapping into plastics.
Pan head screws are best if they have them. Or use washers.
Short fibreboard (chipboard) screws like those used on kitchen cabinets work well.
Don't use any screws that are too thick. These adapters were not well-designed and there's not much plastic for screws to bite into.
I opted for screws with spire nuts from the automotive store. Sold in blister packs for fixing car door trim.
Nuts, bolts, & washers work too. It may be your only option if you've tightened the screws too much and worn away the thin plastic, or undone and redone the screws too many times and the screw thread no longer holds.
Use a dab of Threadlock® on nuts (or two nuts locked together) to prevent them undoing with vibration.

Rowdy141, thank you for the tip 👍☺️. I'll try it with a couple of small bolts. I'll make sure its not too tight. But should work well.👍
