Michael, I think it was much earlier than that. I am going to guess that by 1994-1995, when the Renaissance came out, the base model Ambassador and 2100 would have got plastic non-electric wands for the floor brush. So it's likely your 2100 would have came with the plastic wands, not the metal ones.

I scored a free Ambassador III a few years ago. It came with the electric wands and power nozzle, but no non-electric wands.
I bought a pair of used aluminum wands for it, even though I'm sure it would have originally had plastic. So, while it's not "correct", I went that route because of the experience my mom had with one of her first Electroluxes. I don't remember the model, but it had the plastic wands. And this may have been in the 1980s. She found that they had a tendency to separate while she was using them. Either from each other, or from the floor tool. I don't recall. But, I've had no problems with the aluminum wands. It just depends on how period correct you want it to be! Barry |
