This 1938 Kirby 2C model, the grandpa of all 500 series vacs and beyond , was in a pretty bad shape .
It was a challenging restoration bc of the deep scratches and corrosion over the years .

I love the Kirby 2C, and you did a wonderful job on this one. The 2C was the first Kirby to have the new nozzle design that I loved so much. This became the classic Kirby look for decades.

Beautiful restoration! This model with the newer nozzle with it's crisper lines and the trim in black gives me Heritage II vibes. Excellent work.

Wow!

I wish we'd had these here in the UK. Our early-style Hoovers were a little similar, but these early Kirbys with the square emptors are just so appealing.
