Hi folks. I'm trying to find a black flip floor tool for my Lux Legacy. Even though Aerus has been making black machines for several years, all I can find are white ones.

As I peruse ebay, I'm wondering if the neck of the Guardian Platinum will fit securely on my Legacy. I have a black tool for my Guardian Ultra, but the neck will only fit on that machine's electric wand.

If a Platinum tool neck will fit on the Legacy, it may make my search easier. I've tried looking under Aerus, Lux and Legacy without success.

Thank you.

Michael T.

No. Legacy and platinum attachments are not interchangeable.

I'm not sure if a black Legacy flip over tool exists. I have a black Legacy as well and it came a bare floor only tool.

I know the CentraLux has one, they use the same attachments as the Lux Legaxy.

My Guardian Platinum came with the black flip over rug/floor nozzle. Why are Legacy and Platinum attachments not interchangeable? Do they not use the same type of hose handle, wands, etc.?

Gary,

They use different openings.. the Guardian attachment ends are smaller. If you do a search on here you will probably have the same conclusion.

I’ve read the guardian attachments are compatible with the Tristar.. lux dropped recently. But not with the legacy.

Didn’t Electrolux stop, including its flip over tool with lower end models some time ago?

Kenny,

Wow, I'm surprised that the end sizes are not the same on the Platinum and the Legacy...that seems like it would just increase production costs.

Aerus sells a black flip tool (Combination Floor Brush/Tool) for the Legacy. I bought by two copies ages ago, probably around 2015. I imagine they still make them. You just have to order it from your dealer.

The shape of the ends for the tristar lux machines matches the ultra and platinum so it's something they've already had in production. It is annoying for consumers to not be able to use older lux parts they may have already owned though.

Blackheart, I couldn’t agree more.

The only thing keeping me from getting a Guardian Platinum or a Legacy is the gas-pump handle and plastic wands. I couldn’t imagine owning a Lux canister without the flip-floor tool.

This is the black Legacy flip floor tool...
