Hi folks. I'm contemplating buying a Lux Legacy and am wondering if it has the same motor as the Classic and Guardian Ultra. I know they're not high quality motors and they're noisy with that high pitched whine.

Thanks for your attention.

Michael

Thank you.

Hi Panasonicvac.

Thanks for the info. I was afraid that would be the case.

I love my new Aerus!

I bought a brand new Aerus Lux Legacy canister at Christmas time 2022. I have very sensitive ears for noise tones and I find the machine to be absolutely wonderful!! It has a very pleasant, tone that is not loud at all! The power nozzle is much quieter than many Lux nozzles of the past and is also quieter than the power nozzle presently on the Aerus Lux Guardian Platinum canister.

About 3 years, I bought the CleanObsessed C0888 canister. Many vacuum stores have it and they look quite like the Aerus Classic. It's a very powerful machine, with a lot of power and probably a little more suction over the Aerus. HOWEVER, it is obnoxious!! I tested the unit at a store and I don't know if the acoustics in my home are that off or what, but that thing is bad. Both the power nozzle and suction unit are quite shrill. I had to get rid of it. I now have the Aerus Classic canister that I found used on FB Marketplace and the Aerus Legacy that I got brand new. I'm quite happy with them both!

I highly recommend trying one. I hope you can find an Aerus dealer to try one or perhaps you attend a vacuum meet with collectors who can bring one.

Sorry, the attached photos aren't so great, I'm on my laptop presently which doesn't have as many photos as my desktop PC which is currently off.

I did have that Aerus Guardian Platinum for a little bit and had to sell it due to my wrist. The angle of the hose handle on it is too awkward and my right wrist is sensitive due to two breaks over the years. My Classic canister is in the other photo at my office where I do IT and also custodial.

I just love those for some reason.
I have three versions of the Epic 6500, and one Lux Legacy. I forget what year mine is, but it's white with grey side trim.
Plus, I have an Ambassador III.

I Got My Legacy

Hello everyone. My Lux Legacy arrived today and I have to say I'm VERY impressed with it. The quality is evident - the machine is well-constructed and I'm pleased and surprised at the quiet of the vacuum and the power nozzle. Amazing and most unexpected. I have a Guardian Ultra and a Lux Classic, and both are much noisier running as are the power nozzles, the Ultra being the noisiest of the pair. I'm told the Legacy has the same motor, but the difference in the way it runs belies that. I was not overly impressed by my Aerus models, and bought the Legacy after reading positive comments online and I'm glad I did. I'll be using it a lot.
