I had intentions to build a Hentria (Heritage bag Sentria) with a 10-blade metal fan but the Sentria is sitting in a tote, in my garage, still waiting to be built and polished. However, I came across a Model 514 with a six-blade metal fan. The six blade has a chip on one of the outer edges of the blade.

I want to get this six blade to a machine/metalworking shop & see if they can reconstruct the chipped portion of the blade, balance the fan & possibly smooth out the roughness on the blades before I install it in my 514. Basically make this six blade in like-new condition, if possible, as everything else in the 514 will be in tip-top shape. I intend to semi-daily the 514, enough that I'm planning on a HEPA conversion using the original emtor.

I have bearings on the way for this machine & don't want to risk an out-of-balance fan doing premature wear to my bearings, so I thought about installing this metal 10-blade for the time being.

Is it possible to use my 516-Trad metal 10-blade until the six blade is rehabbed? What modifications are needed, if any?

The ten blade fan modification for g series is simple. You’ll have to use a dremel or something to grind away the lip around the spacer. That way it won’t press against the brass ring on the bearing plate. I’ve done this several times before. It works like a charm.
As for putting a six blade in a g series. The fan and the bearing plate itself will need heavy modification. My friend who built my Hentria, had to grind down the bearing plate quite a bit, and file down the spacer on the six blade to get it to work.
