1205 in srink wrap on ebay loook

I would say that 1205 IS worth the price, for sure!

To the seller's credit, note that they do list it as "used", not new or open box. So their listing & representation is certainly accurate. If you look closely at the pictures, note that the box around the Electrolux logo on the bumpers has the paint worn off & the paint on the lettering on the bag door has worn a bit too. Classic signs of use. However, the chrome is beautiful, & so is the paint....not one scrape or ding at all in the body! Also take note that this would be a early model, probably 1969 or 1970, because it has the smooth paint job & not the crinkled finish used later on in the 1205 run.

What gives away the origins of this vacuum for me lies with the hose....it's a Grand Marquise or Ultralux cloth hose. Along with the packaging & plastic wrap, & the pack of bags with the dealer's name on it, I see 2 possible scenarios here: 1. A customer bought this 1205 new, later bought a Olympia One, and later on brought the 1205 in for a refurbish job. The customer then stored it away, thinking they might give it to a family member or use it later on. 2. A Electrolux dealer received this 1205 as a trade in, & decided it was too nice to discard or tear down for parts, & refurbished it for sale as a used model on the showroom floor. Then a customer eventually bought it & stored it away, keeping it for future use in a Olympia One box. That would also explain the pack of bags & representative's card with their name on it.

Either way, it's a nice machine if you like the early models of the metal body Electrolux canisters, and a good deal if you don't mind buying a new hose & electric wand.

Checkrate/Likes 3 *The vacuum itself looks great but�..* The power nozzle has been repaired, the hose and box are not original and we don�t know if it even comes with the electric wand for the power nozzle. Definitely not worth the asking price.

Checkrate/Likes 3 *Definitely the wrong box...* The box clearly says Olympia One, and is thus several years newer than the vacuum. I'd be willing to bet the shrink wrap isn't original to that machine. Somebody probably bought an Olympia One new, retired their 1205, and packed it up with the Olympia One's packaging materials.

Checkrate/Likes 1 *Power nozzle* The neck is a different color. Those early ones with the blue hood had a neck either made of metal, or blue plastic. I was really surprised to see so many of the blue ones on eBay with a white neck, so I guess it�s a common wear and tear item. My grandmother bought her 1205 the first year they were introduced and hers had a blue neck. I know someone here will correct me if I�m wrong�..

Checkrate/Likes I have a wand and a new to me PN6 power head that works wonders im tempted to buy it honestly since my lux 89 gave up the gost this month but i wonder if the hose is air tight and does he ship to canada ?

Checkrate/Likes *I�m No Expert* Isn�t that an Olympia One hose? Also it looks like the crevice tool is from the Olympia One. I agree that someone either bought the Olympia One new and packaged up their old vacuum in the new box to store or someone just recently found a NOS Olympia One and put this used yet very clean model in the packaging. What doesn�t make sense is why they would have kept some of the new parts in the box especially something as essential as the hose. My second theory would make more sense here as they may have already had a hose and crevice tool for this model. I can�t imagine someone paying that kind of money for a brand new machine in 1980 and using their old hose that didn�t match the new machine. The only reason I can see someone doing this is maybe if the old hose was longer or not as stiff or something and they felt it worked better for them?

Checkrate/Likes 1 Def not worth it to me but anything is worth something to those willing to pay for it. Yes, that is an Olympia one hose and there's a possibility that the person already had a vinyl hose and preferred it over the woven. There's also a possibility that this could have been an estate sale find. oh well, whomever bought it wound up with a decent cleaner in beautiful condition.
