Mine does too.  I'm going to clean my Karasatan with a Floor A Matic, then, the steam vac. Will look perfect, I'm sure.

Scott, I wouldn't tease about the Hoover SteamVac too much there! I had a base model from 1996, a F5805, the one with the red hood, stationary brush and no port for the tool hose, for many years. It was a GREAT cleaner! Did a excellent job on any carpet I cleaned with it. Could have used a little more suction power, but it did the job well. The only reason I parted with it was the motor finally went bad around 2013, and no replacement motor was available.

Also, many collectors hold this original model & design as the best Hoover SteamVac the company has ever produced I might add.

Yea. They're great until the turbine motor to drive the spinscrub brushes fails. That part is no longer available for these units.

Helpful tip

I always run clear water through the machine and drain as much water/solution out as I can when finished. Just pull the trigger with motor off and move the cleaner back and forth until there's little to no water coming from the bottom. Once a year I run CLR through it to keep hard water and detergent from building up.

Nice machine! My 2000 runs like new,no probs.
