Promotional cleaners were budget models. they were meant as budget introductory models, some of them had extremely long production runs with very high numbers made and sold at many stores. SOME were exclusives, or run for a short time (usually due to unpopular color/slow selling or dept store exclusives)
the 714 had a very low production run of about 45,000 units. the color makes this model desirable and the fact it has a headlight. but the u4047 in 1974/5 also had this color but was a cheaper model without a headlight. I also think you know this cleaner is rare. I don't know anyone that would make a 500 + mile round trip for a single vacuum cleaner that was common or didn't have knowledge on the cleaner to some degree. that 714 was listed in wichita, ks. |

Looks like the 714 is a standard convertible with the same quality and basically the same features as any other convertible. Thanks everyone for your help. |
