Had a great time there. He had vac wars, and lots of other stuff. Was thinking about getting a Hoover Sovereign (will post a pic) but didn’t get it. May ask about it again.

Those things are RARE. I mean RARE. Be very careful with it though as the plastic became brittle overtime which is why many never survived.

I am definitely going to try to get this as I have learned what the real value is. It was $40 and thought it was a piece of junk but after some research I was kicking myself for not getting it. I also did not bring money to the meet but I had a chance to sell a vacuum for $40 but the guy who wanted it didn’t bring money either !!! >:(

If you do get it and use it, make sure you use Hoover Type O bags. If you use A bags, the door will blow right off.

Greg is such a great friend with tons of fascinating stories. He is also a very loyal friend. He claims I made him the best plate of spaghetti he has ever eaten. His knowledge of vacuum cleaners, both modern and vintage, is refreshing to see from this awesome young man. I am taking a road trip very soon to visit some friends in Pennsylvania, on my way to Syracuse to visit Greg. I'm so glad you all had a great time. Enjoy that Hoover sovereign.

That Sovereign is rare! The only one I saw in person was at Phillip's house it was burgundy with the cord winder in the back. I believe it belonged to Jason (RIP).

I saw the pictures on Facebook. Looked like fun with lots of vacs.

Kenny, are you referring to Jason Huber when you say Jason (RIP)? How long ago did he pass away and how did he die?

Ahh ok. Well I am not a member so can't read the Miscellaneous section. Can you fill us in here for people that didn't know of Jason Huber before, and his usernames here? How did he die?

I was friends with him at one time, but decided to distance myself as he had way too many issues.

Rob, I’m sorry I even mentioned him. I wasn’t friends with him when he died either (went sour fast). In the beginning, I was (met him in person, a couple of times). I don’t really feel that I’m the person to elaborate.

You can search the archives without being a member. I’m pretty sure it was on Facebook too. Or somebody could message you privately.. It’s only five bucks to be a member.

I don’t want to go further off topic from this thread either.

It comes right up on Google.............

if you type in "Jason Huber, Wichita".

I'm certainly not going to be the one to post a link to it here. Read it at your own risk. It was quite horrible and no way for anyone to die.

What a horrible way to go! Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time....If only he hadn't been in the business at the same time as his killer, and leaving on a bike the killer wanted to steal.

I never met Jason Huber in person. But we were friends for a few years....he was the first collector I ever talked to or got to know. And Jason was the one who encouraged me to join Vacuumland. We lost touch for a while, but reconnected in late 2015....he wanted to rejoin the Facebook group I founded and also help run the group. Needless to say, that didn't happen. Upon talking to Jason, he had SEVERE mental health issues, and personally his life had become a total wreck. If I had let him back into the group, he would have essentially become a huge wrecking ball and would have destroyed everything. I couldn't have that, and also couldn't have him back in my life....so I told him that wasn't happening, blocked him and moved on.

I may not have wanted to be friends with the man any longer, but I do have fond memories of him and some of the phone chats and Facebook chats we had. And I would never want to see anyone's life end that way Jason's life did. As Kenny Loveland said above, rest in peace Jason Huber. And for all your faults, you made a positive contribution to Vacuumland in the knowledge you shared with others.

I travel to see Greg at minimum once a month, sometimes twice, so I probably will see you before the next convention! I'm glad you had a good time.
