I have an 80th myself as well. The power nozzle is not supposed to run after shut-ff. The power nozzle receptacle has two wires and both are connected to the cord leads. Just take the machine apart and correct that one mis-connected wire. The receptacle is wired with the motor so both are energized and de-energized at the same time.

Sounds like you've got a couple of wires crossed. I did that accidentally on an Electrolux Silverado a few years ago. The power nozzle would come on when the vacuum was off and vice-versa. Seems I plugged two of the wires connecting to the cord winder into the wrong spots when I was putting it back together. It worked normally after I reversed them.

Right but Tom, Edgar and myself. Said the same thing about the pn wire not being connected to the switch. You are simply restating what has already been said.
And was it necessarily a problem if the canister was manufactured that way? Maybe my reading comprehension is bad. But I think the poster was asking if anyone else has encountered the same problem. |

A forum where you ask questions. The posters in here don't always connect the dots. If I posted s video and evidence and show empathy for the poster would that help?
I told them how to fix it. You can view it how u want but not everyone on here is mechanically inclined. You view the post as him needing empathy and I view it as someone needing to know how to fix a problem . Agree to disagree it's a power nozzle. |

Michael is yours the same blue UltraLux 80th plastic canister that I have pictured in my above posts and in my video? I want to make sure that we are talking about the same vacuum.

Michael, if I was you, I would leave the vacuum alone and NOT rewire it so the powerhead shuts off when you shut off the vacuum. Remember - Aerus intentionally manufactured the Ultralux this way, for a specific purpose, so that the DriLux powerhead could be used with it for dry carpet cleaning with Capture carpet cleaning powder. If you rewire the vacuum so the powerhead shuts off with the canister on/off switch, you're removing a "feature". And with it, part of what makes it "unique", and possibly a sought-after model in the future that makes it more valuable & collectible. If you ever decide to sell it, you may regret it if removing that "feature" made your cleaner less desirable to a collector, and less valuable. And you can live with it by simply shutting off the powerhead separately, not a big deal.
I would look into getting the lights fixed though. It's not electronic, it's all solid state stuff inside. The Aerus Lux Legacy is still made with the lighted control panel, chances are it's a easy fix. |

Yes, I'm fairly certain it was to run the Dri-clean power nozzle without the suction from the canister. This is my second one of the exact same model and both would run with the canister switch off.
I'm going off of what Danorob1 said in his post. I put a link to the original post in the archives below. CLICK HERE TO GO TO kloveland's LINK

I wonder if a circuit has gone bad over time? Perhaps for the QVC version, they went cheaper on some part?
BTW, @Kloveland, despite the issue with your machine, your machine sounds fantastic in the video!! I remember watching YouTube last year before getting my Aerus and listening to tones of various models. Yours sounds great, pleasant sounding PN, that isn't screechy or obnoxious and a nice suction unit. I hope you guys can figure out the issue. |
