Do you need a heritage cord? Is the bag a bagged since it had the full zipper.

Les,

Picture #2 shows it takes disposable bags, so, yes.

Also wanted, besides the cord:
Four hubcaps ("Kirby" logo; p/n 131881)

That will clean up nicely. I got a pair of hubcaps for my Legend II last spring from Kent Oyler. They were $4.50 plus shipping for the pair. Same ones would go on the 1HD. I've also got a charcoal gray Heritage cord in surplus. It works, but it has electrical tape on it.

One of my Heritage 1HD's has a black Heritage II cord on it. The funny thing is I had the machine for a couple of months before I even noticed it. Even less noticeable was the black Heritage II foot switch on the same machine.

Nice find, Ben. Does it still use the oval-mouthed paper bags or was the fill tube & adapter changed to accommodate the latest HEPA bags?

A 1HD is my hose-only daily driver, that I had restored and converted to HEPA bags. Great machine! I have the entire attachment kits for this model, all from the shuttered Plano Kirby shop.

Hi Rob,

I haven't fully checked that out yet.

About tool kits: Thank you, but I do have a complete set of basic tools, which I acquired along with my 1984 Heritage 84.

Metal Fan!

Unusually, this Heritage 1HD has the metal fan!

I remember owners of this and the prior Tradition 3CB did not like the gray plastic fans in these as they were prone to melt, especially when the hose was used, so when those fans melted/warped, they had their local Kirby dealers replace it with the prior 10-blade metal fan for extra durability.

@texaskirbyguy: I checked out the fill tube assembly and, yes, it has the original Style 2 oval-shaped top adapter.
