Hi everyone! I had my friend that has the vac store here crack open my Aire-Jett. The motor is not brushless. It looks like it is at first sight, but upon closer inspection based on the advice I saw on here on the location of the commutator and
carbon brushes(kudos Kirbylux77) we were able to tell. He didn't completely remove the motor, but my guess is that it is the Johnson motor. I couldn't see any label on it. Mystery solved.
