I'd like to share one of my favorite lines of vacuum cleaners of all time. The Simplicity 7 Series, in this case a 7300 model from 2000. I recently took this vacuum down to the beach to give my family member's condo a thorough vacuuming while on vacation. I fully expected to find sand deeply embedded in the carpet, and the 7300 proved me right. I went down there with a brand new bag, and by the time I was thru vacuuming, the bag was so full it was coming apart. This 7300 features a huge dual fan motor, cyclonic agitation, and a clutched brushroll for use on hard floor. Two models that I still really want to find for my collection are the 7350 and 7850. These are amazing machines with timeless styling and I highly recommend picking one up if you find one. Let me know what your experience is with the 7 Series!

I love these machines. As a collector, these are my favorite line from Simplicity. But as a consumer, I really like the Symmetry S20UP better. In my humble opinion the central vacs were the best from Simplicity. The only criticism I have with the 7 Series that the S20UP fixed is the handle release. I also really like that the S20UP has a lifetime belt, a hall sensor, better bag set up, extra filtration, studier handle, easier to use the on-board hose, and longer warranty with a VIP service plan. I have that same 7300, it's a very nice machine. But I like my 7750 more because it has a stronger motor, better filtration, attachments on-board, rubber coated wheels, thermal reset button, extra year of warranty, more reliable headlights, and doesn't have a clutch since that is an extra thing that can break.

That's interesting
I wasn't aware that they made a stronger version of the dual fan 12 amp motor like what's in the 7300. The online parts catalog shows the same part number for both machines. Does your 7750 perform better?

According to the Simplicity website, the 7750 only has a single stage motor, whereas the 7300, 7350, and 7850 had the dual stage motor. I wonder if the single stage motor supercedes to the dual stage motor?

My 7750 does in fact have a twin fan motor, even the brochure in my video confirms it. Either the archive was incorrect or the earlier run of the 7750 did had a single fan motor but I've never seen one before. I do know the Riccar 8905 version always had a single fan motor. Earlier Tacony had Ametek Lamb built motors for them, that's what the 7300 uses. And then later Tacony built the motors themselves, that's what my 7750 has which is twice as powerful and it can be fitted on the 7300.

Maybe your 7700 might have the Ametek Lamb motor in it. Or maybe your 7300 has the newly upgraded DuraTech motor. This video from VacLab shows what the motor should look like in the 7300 and the picture I have below shows what my 7750 uses.

I've had a few of them over the years. A blue one that didn't have the floor/carpet lever. A maroon one with it and now this green one. I like them they're a good solid machine with impressive agitation. They could be a little more user friendly but I'd take one of these over a large chunk of the modern market.
