While most of us associate Nintendo with video games, did you know that in Japan they did all kinds of interesting things?

Well, one of them is this robot vacuum, which dates from 1979, they call the "Chiritori" (lit. "dust pan," "dust catcher").

I've read about those. They've been referenced in a few odd places like one of the wario ware games.

For those unfamiliar they would spin in a circle until you pushed a single button which would cause it to move straight line.

Reminds me of a remote controlled race car I had when I was about 14 or 15. The remote had one button and the toy went forward in a straight line until you pushed the button; then it would back up and cut to the right, allowing the operator to get it pointed in a different direction. It was very poorly made and I think I wore it out in about a week.
