Hi
I'm looking on the internet at a eureka 260. I've seen some models have a hose port. Does this particular model have the hose port?

Hi Les,

Yes indeed, that photo shows the top-side hose port. The brandplate is made of rubber underneath that forms an airtight seal. You pull off the plate to expose the port in which you insert the hose. A plastic bottom plate is first snapped on the steel brush roll plate underneath in order to protect floors and fingers and provide an airtight seal for hose and tool cleaning.

Hi Les,

The Model 260 lacks the Cordaway and has some different features than the one you posted, which is actually the Model 245; similar to the earlier Model 265 Cordaway but with a vinyl bag, tiptoe rocker switch, and updated logotype with "Dual Power" on the nameplate cover. The contemporaneous Model 240 (and chromed hood Model 242) had the same features and styling as the 245 but lacked the Cordaway. These were introduced in 1966 as successors to the Models 260 & 265 and marketed until circa 1970.

Attached are a couple print ads of the Model 240; I was unable to locate any for the 245. Also, there's a VL photo of the Model 242 & others, posted by 1926700.

1. 1966 Oct 20 PITTSBURGH PRESS - Model 240 (unidentified)

2. 1967 Jan 30 EVENING NEWS - Models 238 & 240

3. Model-Types (unidentified but fit descriptions) 242, 265-K, 260 - posted by 1926700

Here is a link to a YT video featuring the Model-Type 245-A:
