I got this for $15 with spare bags, the bag zipper is stuck but a little WB40 should fix it. It needs a bag and the height adjuster petal is broken off unfortunately. Like what I said about my hoover convertible u4341, this convertible has been through some hard use but it sounds perfectly fine. Convertibles are strong

I could be wrong, but I suspect that is a genuine replacement bag from Hoover and the original bag was vinyl in either white or blue.
Still a great machine and the cloth bag would be better filtration over the vinyl. Some wax rubbed on the zipper should smooth it out some. If it breaks, a tailor can repair it. |

The U4597 model RS was the LAST home version of the Convertible. It had the "special" hood no headlight, cloth outer bag and hood was maroon. Ironic how Elites and Convertibles were being manufactured at the same time. I always scoffed at the Elites because I thought they were Oreck knockoffs and no where near as well built as the venerable Convertible. Now I WISH Hoover made vacuums as good as the Elite.
