I'm currently replacing the motor in an Epic 6500 and I need the motor support ring. It bolts to the motor and then screws into the housing that mates with the cord reel. As you can see, it's broken. I have also called Aerus dealers and they told me the part is discontinued.

Let me look in my stash. I might have one.

Yeah, that's manufacturers' favorite way to retroactively kill otherwise fixable machines in an effort to force consumers to buy the new plasticrap they're trying to foist off on them. The best defense is to have a decent stash of NOS and salvaged parts on hand, because at the end of the day, selective hoarding can be a bit of a necessity. My main problem is when I get a parts machine, I'm just as likely to give in to temptation and repair it, even if it ends up costing way too much money to do it.

Yes, so true Edgar! Totally agree. However, thankfully many Aerus dealers save those motor support rings for repairs. Also, there is a aftermarket metal motor support ring with a foam seal. However, it has 4 bolt holes & it's designed to be used with a Ametek/Domel motor that has 4 bolt holes, not the 3 bolt hole design that these original Electrolux motors used. So you would also have to replace the motor with a Ametek or Electro Motor double stage motor when using the new metal ring. But, then again the plastic bodied canisters are getting old enough that they require motor replacement now, so maybe that's a good thing :).

One can just drill new holes through the ring to fit the old motor and fill the unused holes with JB-Weld.

After hours of searching, I have not found anything genuine or aftermarket that would fit in this unit. Hoping that someone has what I need. I also agree with Edgar. To be fair though, the local Aerus dealer said he has never replaced a motor support ring with all the motors he's replaced.

Huskyvacs, that wouldn't work as the hole spacing on the genuine Electrolux motor mount is different than a conventional motor mount for another brand motor like Ametek or Domel, since the holes for the bolts to attach to the motor are spaced differently on the Electro Motor's from the 80s and 90s. This changed when Aerus sold off the motor manufacturing division and Electro Motor designed them to be universal replacement motors like Ametek and Domel motors are.

Mike, can you get access to JohnnyVac in your area? That's the Canadian distributor in Quebec that has the metal motor rings and also sells motors with the ring installed for Electrolux motor replacements. They have set up a distribution division in the USA, so you might have some luck trying to source one through them.
