I had a 3R once upon a time. As I recall it used a black plastic toggle switch very much like a Hoover 28/913/etc.

This won't be a switch available new, but should be easy enough to find used...even if it means sacrificing an old Hoover handle off a parts machine.

Of course, the R may have used an entirely different switch from the 3R. As Kieran said, a picture would help!

Educated guessing any 2c or earlier toggle switch would be ooem.
Share more pics it's not like there's 2 or three type Rs even mentioned on VL.

Weirdly I don't see any screw holes in that grip slot. If there were 2 then I would suggest the standard metal toggle switch used in prewar machines, a really thin one. I have a spare or two of those.
