Hello all, so I had no idea that a orphan lid that came on my C-6 turquoise Electra was so mismatched having a mustard color bag lid. I assumed too much that they were a match.

I was wrong, I was on the last lap of finishing this rescue, only to find, the lid hinge and C-6 body, do not match. The only solution is to find a lid that came off of a C-6. Drilling out the holes to make the joint match, is out of the question.

Can anyone shed any light on this issue? Did the bodies change enough to cause this malalignment?

There was only one latch used. It's probably bent. They talked about that in the owner's manual.

OH No!

If it is pot metal, then I will break!

The pin

was bent. Before I tapped it back in, I straightened it. Maybe that is why it orginally fit better. Oh well.

to be clear,

I am talking about the bag chamber lid, not the exhaust port lid. I just did not consider the hinge a latch.
