I just purchased a new Hoover Porta Power cleaner. I also purchased the optional "adaptor" and disposable bags.I cannot get the "adaptor" to fit inside the front of the machine and the bag door to close. I worked with it today for about 2 hours. Finally gave up and returned both the machine and the adaptor kit. It was using Type "n" bags. After returning the machine, I did read in the reviews, others had the same issue. Any suggestions what I was doing incorrect? It came with no instructions but the adaptor says it fits all models of Hoover Porta power. I assume the paper bag insert was to be connected to the adaptor and then inserted inside the permanent cloth bag.

Such a shame as I liked the product except the hose is way too short. It came with a full set of tools including both a rug/flloor tool and a separate fuller brush for the hardwoods.

Porta Power

I think adapter is in place of bag not inside.

The cloth bag is not used when paper bags are used. That was your problem.

It's a shame you returned the machine.

I have a NIB (from the Employee's Store in N Canton).  Plus, a few others lying around.

Yes,  use, as they say,  "Paper or cloth".

But, not both at the same time.  Perhaps you'll get another.

 Best of luck.

Thanks for your help. AFTER I had sent them both back, I got to thinking MAYBE that was the problem!
How stupid could I be! The adaptor DID NOT have any rubber seal and I think that is what threw me off. When you think of it, my Hoover Dail-A-Matic works with just the paper insert. I could not find any instructions to guide me. I was surprised to see on the box it said
"assembled in USA" and the machine and tools looked like REAL HOOVER.

Interesting information John. That is why I value my Dail-A-matic. Going it get it back running some day.

I got one from eBay a couple summers ago. Yes definitely the last to have the good old attachments.
