I recently saw an Electrolux Model E on eBay. Many of you know this Electrolux is my absolute favorite of all of them. My love for it has little to do with performance; it's mainly a matter of nostalgia.

I could tell from the photos it was in excellent condition, with the original attachments.

The opening bid was reasonable as was the shipping cost. So I placed a bid and kept my eye on it. I ended up being the only bidder on it!

Well, it arrived yesterday. I came home and it was on my front porch. The seller is located near me so he delivered it himself instead of shipping it. I'm glad it got here today before the impending foul weather hits the area!

It's in even more beautiful condition than it appeared in the eBay listing. The original hose has a tight seal with no air leaks, and it has the blue hammertone machine-end coupler, unique to the Model E. The colors of the weaving are somewhat faded, but the hose is airtight.

Look at how clean and scratch-free the hose handle and wand-ends are! It really looks like this machine was barely used.

It still has the original Belden cord, intact and in perfect condition.

There was a great surprise inside: A very early unused bag with advertising from the era of the Model F! This further affirms the machine's light use.

I fired it up and it purrs like a kitten.

This makes seven Model Es in my collection, each of them slightly different from one another. I wonder if I'll ever have enough Model Es!!

John, do you remember the beautiful Model E you found some years ago and sent to me?! It has an unusual hose -- cloth gray weaving and vinyl blue weaving. I've never seen another one like it.

It also came with a later rug washer attachment for which the nice housewife had written out measuring directions in longhand!

I was at a garage sale, and it was in a closet in the hallway. I asked the guy if it was for sale and he said "Yeah, I guess so". I remember it was in beautiful condition.
